12:43 PM Bones Need Less Sweets
Having watched the two hour season premiere of Bones, one wonders if the producers have made a mistake by making Dr. Sweets a regular character. Last season, his role was as a counselor to Bones and Booth. Now, apparently he hangs with the lab geeks and gives out unwanted advice? He worked last season, including the unspoken element of him being suspected (by the fans) of being the killer B&B had been looking for all season (that turned out to be Dr. Addy, who was written out of the show. The writers need to find a better and more organic way to use him on a “regular” basis.
If the season a opener is any indication, having more Sweets is not good.

Join Me Tomorrow During the Premiere for Live Blogging!!

I’ll be blogging the season 4 Bones premiere live tomorrow night and you can join in. I’ll get the session started at about quarter till the hour before the show begins, so you can come to the site and join the session. Then, as the show airs, we can all blog it together. (Don’t worry, I’ll still do a full recap afterwards, but this way, we can all discuss as it airs.)

All Bones fans are welcome to join in the session, just come to the site and I’ll give you the instructions.

When the show airs at 8:00 pm in Eastern Time zone, we’ll be blogging it live. (You can check to see what time that is in your location by going to this site.) If you will be seeing it air at that time (no delay) you can live blog it too. If you have a delay, you can get our comments before the show airs.

And if you’d rather not be distracted while the show is on, just come here afterwards to read the transcript of the live blog session!

David Boreanaz Tells All

I just got off a conference call interview with David Boreanaz of Bones. As always he was charming and very warm with us, even though he’ll probably have to talk to every entertainment reporter in the known world either today or tomorrow.

I will type up and post the entire interview as soon as possible, but I wanted to get a few bits out as quickly as possible. Here were a few of the topics that were touched on:

When I asked him how Booth will evolve as a character this season he said that we’ll get to see more of the dark side of him. We have had an inkling of the fact that he was a sniper in the military and that he did endure some torture, but we haven’t seen how it affected him psychologically yet. He said that by the time we see him working with the team, he has himself together, for the most part, but we haven’t yet gotten to see what it takes for him to get ready each morning, etc. (I’m looking forward to finding out more about his “darker” side, aren’t you?)
He says that at some time during the season, Zack will escape and come help the team with a case. (Apparently, he could be helpful in several cases this season.) And the interesting part is that Booth will have to take him back to prison.
Since several of you commented that you didn’t see the “Cocky” belt buckle in any of the promo photos, I asked if we had seen the last of it and he laughed and said that it is definitely still around and we’ll continue to see it this season.
He talked a bit more about the “fantasy” episode and I got the impression that some of the intimate scenes we’ve been teased with may be a part of that.

These were my questions and a couple of other highlights from the conversation. I’ll post the whole interview as soon as I can get it typed up.

Bones: Sneak Peek at Episode 4.01 - The Bridge

Talk about a scene that should please the romance-lovers out there! In this scene, the British forensic pathologist tries to seduce Brennan and she refuses because she doesn’t want to upset Booth. Then, they get into a couples-like bantering session as the Tower Bridge is raised…
