The season 4 finale of Bones certainly wasn’t what I expected, how about you? I knew there would be a “twist” but even the twist is confusing, I guess. After reading through everyone’s comments so far, it seems that there’s not even a clear agreement among everyone about what the episode was about.
Was the entire thing a story that Brennan was writing to occupy herself while she waited for Booth to wake up? Was the whole thing a dream that Booth had while in the coma?

Last night, we had a number of shocks to deal with in the last episode of Bones season three. We’ve had a lot of build-up to the finale and now that it’s aired, it might be fun to go back and review it so we can get the most out of the last two episodes until August.

The show began with two mall Christmas elves finding a badly decomposing body of a “Santa” behind the mall on their break.
Then we saw Brennan at the jail visiting her father who was sitting with lots of huge, heavy chains around his neck. It seems that he was rehearsing to play Jacob Marley in the Christmas Carol play.
He told her that he would like to spend another Christmas with Tempe & Russ. Tempe told him she was going on a trip to Peru instead.

The show began with a group of boys camping in the woods. One boy went out into the woods to use the bathroom and began to scream. The adults and boys ran to see what had happened. The boy had found a corpse, complete with maggots and rotting flesh. (I think I’d feel like screaming too…)

The team was called in to investigate. Booth was obsessed with the maggots and grossed out by things, while Brennan wondered why Cam wanted her there since there weren’t any exposed bones.
Cam told her that the body’s feet were missing which suggested bone trauma.

Bad news!! I was unable to do the recap of tnight’s episode. My area of the Midwest is currently under a tornado watch and more of the show was pre-empted by weather reports than not. There was no way to even follow the plot, let alone write about it. I look forward to seeing this episode during the reruns…

The show began when a group of young people driving on the interstate go under an overpass when a skull drops into their windshield. Then we see Tempe and Cam testing a candidate to replace Zack. They tell Booth that his name is Clark Edison. Tempe seems unwilling to make a decision, even though Clark seems very skilled.
Booth tells them that there’s a crime scene. Tempe leaves with him. He takes her to a giant, multi-car & semi accident on the freeway. She is grumpy and seems uninterested in the investigation because she is now overworked, with Zack gone.

While walking between the cells filled with reaching inmates, one grabbed Brennan’s sleeve and pulled her against the bars. Booth pulled her away and held her with his hand around her waist, telling her, “You stay close. A lot of these animals haven’t seen a real woman since Reagan was president.”
