Bones fans, let’s talk about last night’s episode. We finally got to see what the argument between Angela & Brennan was all about and it had nothing to do with a man! Angela was the one interested in animal rights and Brennan took the totally logical point of view. I thought that was a brilliant twist, since Emily Deschanel is the real-life animal rights person.
And now we know that all the fans that guessed that Angela would end her run of celibacy with intern Wendell were right! [Hey, he’s a cutie. Who could blame her?]
This was also the episode where David Boreanaz threatened to not show up for the filming because he has a fear of chickens. So we saw the chickens projected on “green screens” behind them. Thank goodness he was there for the filming! There were no actual shots of them with the chickens. Very cleverly done!
Emily’s message of the horrible treatment of chickens was definitely highlighted in the episode too. I am a vegetarian as well and was happy to see the truth about commercial chicken farming shown. Bravo! to Hart Hanson and the rest of the folks who bring us Bones!
The episode was not convoluted, though. The usual banter between Booth & Brennan was there, along with plenty of humor:
Cam: “I do not twirl the interns.”
Thankfully, the half-chicken/half-man was not as crazy looking as we had been led to believe. I think I’ve actually seen a guy that looked like that guy once. (Poor guy…)
Overall, I think this was the most fun and interesting episode so far this season. What were your thoughts about it? Did it hit a homerun for you? [Obvious baseball reference because of the recently ended World Series.] Or did it miss the mark? Leave a message and let’s discuss!

I liked the episode loved the B&B moments especially the end scene can Booth/David smile more lovelier *sigh and swoon* Brennan must notice that he loves her Angela and Wendell ok he’s cute but I just don’t see them together but that’s my pov loved the expressions on Cams face and the diner scene was good loved it when Booth kicked Sweets underneath the table and the handtouching loved it
It was good episode. I love Booth and Brennan’s moments scene.
My favorite part of Booth kick Sweet under the table and I love it B/B hold the hand,it was cute and make Brennan better, because he really care of her.
I think Booth should tell her that he love her.
I can’t believe Angela and Wendell dating without Hodgins know, but I hope he probably find out soon or later.
I’m so excited Christmas episode with Zooey Deschanel and 100th episode with Booth and Brennan’s first case together by David will director on 100th.
I completely agree about the end of the episode Booth/Brennan scenes! They were so cute together! I hope he tells her how he feels pretty soon…this is making us crazy!
I don’t understand, a few weeks back they never told how the gay that fell out the window and broke his neck on the trash ended up being drug by a train and last night how the chicken man got his thumbs cut off and by who.
I did not really like this episode. I felt it was preachy and I am a vegetarian. Angela is really starting to bore and annoy me as a character. I thought it was mean of her to solicit money from Wendell when she knows his precarious financial situation.
I also didn’t understand the last scene with B/B – why didn’t Brennan want to know what Booth noticed? Why did she say it could wait?
I did enjoy the prolonged hand holding though
Ahhhh this episode was worth the wait! Like everyone else, I LOVED the diner scene where Booth grabs Brennan’s hand!
Random question that I’ve been thinking about – I wonder if Booth remembers that Brennan asked him to father her child? Does anyone know?
i really liked this episode. ok, i had no idea that it would be wendell. (sorry, i guess i was out of the loop). but i thought the booth/bones moments were so cute! when he noticed that something was wrong with bones at the diner and before she left… oh come on, the camera made a close up on them holding hands. and then again at the end when they were staring at each other longingly. adorable. they should really just hook up already. and the piglet in the picture was really cute too, by the way. i would have given angela the $1500 on the spot.
I liked the show alot. It was all about B/B touching. The hand hold, the taking his tie, the closeness at the end. The touching was a carry over from the previous ep. She fixed his tie he touched her hair. Building a different more emotionally trusting relationship.
I read spoilers, so I knew the day before the ep Wendell would be the one ending Ange’s celibacy..
I looked away with the chicken parts.. Gross body’s I can handel, (if I write that correct..), but get away from the animals!!
Loved that scene where Booth grabbed Brennan’s hand. That was ultimate cuteness. I am glad they didn’t ruin it by Sweets saying; ‘The way you hold her hand is very.. intressting.’ xD.
And the end scene. I wonder if Brennan knows he noticed something about someone else, maybe she thinks Booth knows something about her.
That would be intressting, xD.
But I’m glad they’re back, really missed them. Can’t wait for the nexy ep, and of course X-Mas ep..
And after flashback ep we can make so many awesome vid’s with slogan’s as; How hate becomes love.
B&B rule.
I loved the episode I thought Booth telling Brennen he;d die or kill for her was powerful cause he said it so matter a factorly. I am not that into the hogkins/angela love fest, but felt the wendel/angela was kind of forced. I love that Bones told Booth in the end he was twice the man at half the speed, Hart Hanson amazes me with the writing
I looooooooved this episode. I loved the hand-holding, I loved the plot, I thought it was super funny – the part where Sweets and Booth are talking about him dating twins and Sweets was all “No, it’s all RIGHT it’s all RIGHT!”
My one beef with it was the way they resolved the Bones and Angela argument. I thought they’d do something cool like have Brennan buy a hundred piglets or atleast let us HEAR the resolution, but instead we just saw them from far away, out of earshot…LAME.
I absolutely love this episode! there were some very nice B/B moments:
-when booth says: “I will kill for you, I’ll die for you..”
- when he grabs her hand and says: It’ll be alright
- and even some of hte famous looks…
I loved it
Booth & Brennan where really close in that epsiod too.
i loved it but can’t understand why sweets totally DIDNT acknowledge when booth took brennans hand!!??? i loved how they are now very touchy feely!! when brennan took off booths tie…very like the finale (expressions etc)i really hope they have a sneaky kiss or something soon, what you guys think? xxx
I really liked this episode. Like many, the hand holding and longing stares were AWESOME, well worth the wait! I LIVE for those moments. The storyline was interesting, though I’m not digging the Angela-Wendell connection. I know it’s been a while, but I think Angela’s smart enough not break her “fast” with someone else they both work with.
This is going to sound bad, but did anyone else think the opening scene was unflattering for Brennan? She is a BEAUTIFUL woman, and not stick-thin (my hubby loves her curves), but I was disappointed at the opening shot. She’s like a size 6-8 and they made her look almost pregnant!
@ harri;
Emily said there will be more kissing this season, I hope she meant B&B kissing, xD
I was so excited that the game was over and Bones was back!! I always relish those little moments between Booth and Brennan, they’re my favorite. It’s amazing how the little moments between them sometimes mean more than anything else that happened in the episode, for me it wraps everything up into a little ball and makes me feel complete. I think that if an episode ever ended without a B&B moment, it would be very disappointing to me, i seriously live for those!! lol. I liked the episode it really wasn’t my favorite, but i was happy to see my squints again!
The episode was very entertaining. I just love the moments between Booth and Brennan (like everyone else). I know I heard Angela tell Wendell that Brennan’s check was for the “whole thing”, or did I just think I heard that? Anyway, I am not a vegetarian or a vegan I eat meat! I raise animal to eat and I think that the treatment of chickens in a chicken factory (or any other animal in a factory) is deplorable, there are alternatives. I like Angela and Wendell temporarily or even permanently if Hogens gets is happiness. I love a happy ending.
I also agree the endings with Booth and Brennan are great, this one is no exception. Brennan trusts him he said she did not want to know, so she took him at his word!
If they ever have an episode without a B&B moment it will be the worst episode in the history of Bones!!
Though, I think the flashback episode will be without B&B moments, ’cause they hate each other.
But man, I can’t wait for Bones to return in the Netherlands..
If I want to see season 1 I’ll just grab my DVD-box.
I was not a huge fan of this episode. So far not a huge fan of Season 5. I miss the old, “banter” and chats inside of Booths vehicle……I also miss more of the prolonged looks of longing between the 2 of them. They need to balance the silly stuff with some serious stuff. I agree on Brennan’s (Emily’s) look this season.. Why are they dressing her in such horrible looking FRUMPY outfits this season??? And her hair needs to return to its beautiful dark color. Booth even references her hair in an episode when he was on vicodin….he loves her dark, silky hair. So lose the horrible outfits on Bones……she needs to looking stunning when standing beside Booth…..return to her old look with the necklaces and nice clothes!!
Loved the episode, not one of my best but still enjoyable.
Top moments? Needless to say, Booth & Brennan holding hands and Booth kicking Sweets in the shins from under the table.
I usually love Angela but I have to say she really got on my nerves in this episode. Brennan is known for being a rational “I don’t show my emotions” kind of person, and yet Angela has never attacked her so vehemently and has never threatened their friendship (not even in Season 2, when Hodgins told her he would have spent forever with Angela and Brennan matter-of-factly told him “You won’t live forever”). To freak out on her like that over an animal when she has shrugged off many similar reasonings about human beings and human emotions is tuned out for me. I don’t mean Angela does not have a point in wanting to save the piglet (though, like Wendel, I am a meat eater and not apologetic about it). I can see her point, part of me shares it and I probably would have contributed to her cause; but I am not Brennan and I (luckly) don’t have her past history and traumas, and a true best friend should know better than break a friendship for this.
There is one thing I found wierd: Sweets is ready to jump in and contribute “insightful” comments on Booth and Brennan’s feeling for each other even when they merely talk to each other: he sees them holding hands, prolonging the hold on each other, exchange those looks, and pat and squeeze their hands and he says NOTHING about it? Not even to Booth? The best he could come up with was “You dated twins”? I thought it was weird…
I also have one question: when will Booth be through with questioning himself and his “bad” brain? I am kinda of getting tired of this, especially if Hart plans on using this topic to keep them apart. It’s old, boring and I for one could do without it.
This is really, really random … but did anyone notice that the diner in How I Met Your Mother’s latest episode (The Rough Patch) looks EXACTLY like the one they use in Bones??
I think Sweets doesn’t say anything about his observations because he knows just how much Booth “thinks” he is (or really is) in love with Brennan. No need to dig into that when he already knows.
i liked this episode.. it wasnt one of my favorites but i thought it was good… the scene in the diner when booth grabs brennans hand i wish that sweets would have made a comment because i love those moments when he does and bones and booth look at each other and then look away real fast then change the subject its so cute!!!
but there were a lot of cute B/B moments in there
I AM SO MAD AT ANGELA!!! she belongs with hodgins i mean really we need cindi lauper to go in there and straighten her out just like she did with booth angela and hodgins were so awesome and i almost cried when they broke up…. that was bad writing on hart hansons part but then angela and wendell.. thats just plain weird…. i mean that boy looks like he’s what 2 years old…
WEIRD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cant wait for tonights episode… and then the episode with booth’s grandpaw… YAY its says that hes gonna get involved in booths personal life… maybe he’ll try and push both and brennan together.
I like a lot, all the jokes and of course, the truth about the chicken food industry.
Oooh, I hope he does! That would make for a pretty interesting episode! I keep dreaming up new scenarios in my head for the Christmas one as well: they’re trapped together in some snow-covered cabin, reminiscing about when they first met. Cheesy, I know, but I am sort of craving the whole trapped-together-forced-to-face-feelings thing.
By the way, LOVED the epi last night. Gordon Gordon and Sweets were just so fun to watch, and I LOVE that Booth had to face up to his feelings for Brennan again. Can’t wait for next week!!!
I loved this episode
I’m going to be hated for this comment, but I don’t care, because it must be said. As a Bones afficionado, since season 1, I have to say, this was the WORST episode of Bones EVER. It contained moments that I think most will concede were great to watch, as the evolution of Booth and Brennan’s relationship has progressed tremendously, but overall the episode was extremely lacking. The case wasn’t as ridiculous as promos led us to believe, but it certainly was not interesting. There was no attachment to the victim, a lack of strong motivation for the killer and overall a sense of rush in wrapping the case up. Also, Booth & Brennan’s “moments” overshadowed the entire episode, being unnecessarily prolonged and too blatant. I think many will agree that the subtlety of their tension is what makes them interesting. Don’t even get me started on the premise or resolution what could have been a lovely twist in the plot between Brennan and Angela. Furthermore, Hodgins was completely underused in this episode, Sweets was out of character and Angela’s behavior (which I’m sure people will say is due to the celibacy kick) was totally unmotivated and over the top. I have no desire to re-watch this episode (and I’ve seen ALL of them at LEAST twice).
