Bones: Casting Booth’s Grandfather

I marked this as a spoiler, but it really doesn’t tell us very much. Apparently, Hart Hanson is keeping this info pretty securely secret. We’ve been hearing about the possibility of Booth’s grandfather making an appearance on Bones for a couple of seasons now, but perhaps this time it’s going to happen. I can’t wait to find out who will play him.
Question: Have they cast Booth’s grandpa on Bones? —CL

Ooooh, I hope this really happens! Let’s make some fun speculations on who the actor could be: Haven’t seen him in a LONG time, but would James Garner be willing to play the part? David is equally studly (if not moreso) than he was at his age, and there are some physical similarities. Even better, what about Sean Connery? I know they’re movie stars, but maybe they’d make an exception for a show as wonderful as Bones!
I love James Garner! I just watched the Notebook and he’s in that movie! He would be amazing for Booth’s grandfather.
I love the whole angle too
It makes for an amazing story line, I think it would be cool if like on the 100th episode they do that whole, when they first met thing, and then his grandfather shows up at the end.
I´ve been thinking about who could play Hank, Booth´s grandpa, and I think Barry Corbin would be a good option I´m very curious as to who they are gonna cast

Jessica, that’s a GREAT choice! He was great in Northern Exposure, and would make an awesome grandfather to Booth.

Ha Ha Ha, I was waiting for the page to load so I could tell all of you how perfect James Garner would be for this role. But you all beat me to it!
Sadly, I think James Garner had a mini stroke not too long ago. I searched his name and saw that on a couple sites, but I don’t know when it happened. My thoughts and prayers are with him that he’ll recover soon…maybe even soon enough for the 100th epi to show he’s still got it!
Ralph Waite from the Waltons has been cast. James Garner is to ill to do the gig.
