Bones Writer Talks About Booth & Bones

March 16, 2008 by Lynn

Scott WilliamsFanbolt recently interviewed Scott Williams, one of the Bones writers. Here’s a little tidbit that he shared about the continuing romantic tension between Booth & Bones. (But don’t worry, I’ll be asking more about this and the other characters when I do my interview with some of the show’s writers…) ;-)

In movies, our heroes get together at the end. It’s left to the audience’s imaginations what happens next. On TV, your left with two characters in a whole new relationship than the one you’ve come to love and appreciate.

We did finally let Booth and Brennan kiss in that Christmas episode I mentioned before. And Emily and David played the hell out of it. All the feelings, the denial, the suppressed attraction, it was all right there in their eyes. But we left it unrequited, where it belonged. To paraphrase Hart, until their current relationship starts boring people, why mess with it? But he always smiles when he says it. So you never know. At any moment, we could surprise you.

  2. Emanuela says:

Just as long as we do not have to wait 10 series… I’d be happy with it happening in the two-three last episodes of a seires, possibly next one?

  3. brennanite says:

    then….PLEASE surprise us!
suppressed attraction is fine, flirting is fine, but we all know these two belong to each other…
David always says that they’re already together, but, you know, we would like it to be…. confirmed….. :-)

Yep, the writers/ producers keep saying that they want to stretch out the Booth & Brennan relationship. IMO, I think that they risk losing the interest of the fans if they make us wait too long! Three years going into four, seems a very long time for two people not to realise that they are meant to be together!

  5. Georgia says:

    GOD!
    Can’t they just kiss already?
    Again that is!

Hi, I loved the show when it first started and now I am so disappointed. You took a great show that I really enjoyed, and made into a show I no longer will watch. You took a great character which is Angie on the show and turned her into a lesbian. The show no longer has morals and values and is a no longer a joy to watch. The gay and lesbian issue has been forced on the American people who desire to see good wholesome family TV programs. I will no longer watch your show and I know there are others who will also no longer support your show. It is sad how you can turn a TV show into some thing that has no values or morals.

    Thanks for you time,

    You just lost another viewer.

  8. Please get rid of Ryan O’Neal. He is ruining the show. His relationsip with Temperance is toxic stupid and awful. He is a terrible cast for this great program will with wonderful, strong characters. It definitely does not need “Dad.” I could hardly watch the last program, and will not watch future program with him in it.

  9. I forgot to check the box that said ‘Notify me”.

Please get rid of the Ryan O’Neal character.

    Please, please, please.

  10. I agree with the writer Hisbeauty4ashes — you have taken a pretty decent show and trashed it. Why do you think all your viewers want to see lesbians and all the other characters on the show completely obsessed with sex? That completely overpowers the detecting of crimes. How sad for you.

  11. alaine says:

How sad for Stella that your not open-minded enough to watch lesbians and gay people on tv. They do exist, you know!

  12. Garry Roberts says:

Love the show. Witnessed at UCLA a great way for someone to die.
Two scooter hitched up horse and wagon style to a shopping cart.
Two riders on the Scooter “horses” and someone in the Shopping cart.

Looked fun. very dangerous but fun.

Hey! I REALLY love you’re show! I’m only thirteen and I watch it every night! When I saw that ZACK was Gormogon’s assistant, I felt sick and I cried a little bit! My mom did that same thing! If you could do anything to bring Zack back to the show in any way, that’d be great! Everyone loves Zack and we want to see him back!
